Rome, 11 December (LaPresse) – ‘I was the one who paid the price. I paid with public humiliation, with someone mocking and ridiculing me.’ These were the words of Raoul Bova during the Atreju panel discussion “Not with my face. Deep fakes, web reputation and social media hate”, referring to the private audio recording released last summer. ‘Everyone knew about this phrase “Occhi spaccanti” (piercing eyes),’ he added, ‘which became more popular than war, people being killed, women, femicide, anything else. This happened during the summer and it killed me.’ The actor said he felt “very alone, there was no reaction” to that audio, “it should have been blocked from the start because it had already been reported. No one raised their hand to say 'Yes, let's block it”.
