Rome, Sept. 8 (LaPresse) – Rick Davies, co-founder, frontman, and co-founder of the British band Supertramp, has died at the age of 81. The musician passed away last week at his home in Long Island "after a long illness," according to a statement released by the band on Sunday. Davies, songwriter and author of hits such as 'Goodbye Stranger' and 'Bloody Well Right,' was diagnosed in 2015 with multiple myeloma, a cancer focused in the bone marrow that affects white blood cells. The diagnosis and the need for "aggressive treatment" forced the band to cancel a reunion tour in Europe scheduled for later that same year.
