Rome, 31 July (LaPresse) – ‘Moving the Festival from Sanremo would make no sense given the history of that theatre and that city. In my opinion, it would be sacrilegious, although there are certainly economic issues that need to be addressed and overcome. However, giving up Sanremo would mean touching something that has to do with Italian culture, a fixed appointment.’ This is what Simone Cristicchi, winner of the 2007 Festival with the song “Ti regalerò una rosa” (I'll give you a rose) and who moved the audience in 2025 with his song “Quando sarai piccola” (When you are little), told LaPresse. “You feel special emotions on that stage,” added Cristicchi, “partly because of the millions of people watching you. The Ariston is a place where history has been written over the decades. It is the people who create energy in places. And let's not forget the Tenco Prize, because that also takes place at the Ariston.”
