Rome, May 13 (LaPresse) – On May 14 at 6:30 p.m., the Panorama IICinemaRio series will present a screening of There’s Still Tomorrow (C’è ancora domani), the directorial debut of Paola Cortellesi, at Teatro Italia in Rio de Janeiro.
Admission is free, with online registration available through Sympla.
Shot in black and white that serves as an ethical rather than merely aesthetic choice, Cortellesi depicts post-war Italy, still steeped in domestic authoritarianism and forced silences, restoring dignity to voices silenced by official history.
The protagonist, Delia, embodies a humble yet unyielding femininity, torn between duty and desire, submission and liberation.
Surrounding her is a world that, although seemingly distant in time, speaks to us with striking relevance.
The film’s strength lies in its subtlety: it is through suggestion rather than confrontation that Cortellesi delivers her most subversive message.
