Rome, May 1 (LaPresse) – As planned, the May Day Concert in Rome opened with a tribute to Pope Francis. Noemi, one of the event's hosts, said that the late Pontiff would have "been happy to see so many young people united through music. We are very happy to start the Concertone by listening to the words of Pope Francis." A video message was then broadcast in which Bergoglio stated that music "is beauty, a tool for peace that can help people live together."
