Rome, 30 Apr (LaPresse/AP) – Barbra Streisand is preparing to release a new album, ‘The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two’, due out in June. In 11 tracks, the singer is joined by big names such as Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Sting, Seal, Tim McGraw, Mariah Carey, Ariana Grande and others. It begins with a stirring cover of ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’ featuring Hozier. The song was originally written by British folk artist Ewan MacColl for his wife Peggy Seeger, but it is the late Roberta Flack's cover that stands out, and not just because it was used in a love scene between Clint Eastwood and Donna Mills in his 1971 film ‘Play Misty for Me’. Streisand and Hozier give her own interpretation. ‘I've always loved singing duets with talented artists. They inspire me in unique and different ways and make our studio time a joy,’ Streisand said in a statement. ‘I admire them all and hope you will enjoy listening to our collaborations as much as I have enjoyed recording with all my amazing partners.’
