Milan, 23 April (LaPresse) – "The internet is establishing itself as a source for accessing audio-visual content and information: platforms and streaming are introducing on-demand viewing and changing the model of generalist TV (according to AGCOM, in the third quarter of 2025 there were 15.7 million unique users of paid video-on-demand platforms and around 38 million for free ones), and in 2025 in Italy – even though it ranked last among European countries – the internet was used by over half the population aged between 16 and 74 to access news and newspaper websites, representing a 15 percentage point increase compared to 2013". This is explained by Istat in “Stories of Data – A Century-Long Journey Through Culture and Leisure”.
