Milan, 23 January (LaPresse) – In 2025, there was a significant increase in tourism throughout Italy. This is according to data from the Ministry of the Interior's “Alloggiati web” platform, which allows accommodation facilities, both hotels and non-hotels, to communicate the details of their guests to the relevant police headquarters within 24 hours of their arrival. Arrivals in the country grew by 7.1% overall, from 173 million in 2024 to over 185 million in the past year. The increase in tourist flows affected both hotels, which saw an increase to 104,660,524 arrivals in 2025 compared to 101,629,754 in the previous year (+3%), and non-hotel accommodation, which grew from 71,395,272 to 80,617,418 (+13%). This positive result is due to both the higher number of Italian tourists (up 5.1% from 77,317,707 in 2024 to 81,251,494 last year) and foreign tourists, who grew by 8.7% (104,026,448 in 2025, compared to 95,707,319 the previous year).
