Budget: Lega, towards sub-amendment against pension cuts, alternative coverage

Rome, 17 Dec. (LaPresse) – ‘The Lega will present sub-amendments to make it clear’ that the cuts to mobile windows on pensions and the redemption of university degrees "is a safeguard clause. Our intention is to remove that part and replace it with a comprehensible safeguard clause,‘ which would trigger alternative coverage, ’and less opposed to what we want to do." This is what Lega Senator Claudio Borghi told journalists in the Senate. By 6 p.m. today, groups will be able to submit sub-amendments to the government's amendment. The alternative safeguard clauses referred to by Borghi would trigger, for example, an increase in IRAP (regional business tax) on banks or VAT. “And if the MEF (Ministry of Economy and Finance) does not give the green light,” he added, “let them come here and explain why”.
