Enquête CRC : « À partir de 2021, le prix des panettones augmentera de 42 % » Crc survey: ‘From 2021, panettone prices up 42%’

Rome, 6 December (LaPresse) – ‘The prices of traditional Christmas cakes have risen steadily in Italy in recent years, to the point that today, buying an industrial pandoro or panettone costs on average 42% more than in 2021, but if you choose chocolate-based products, the price increase reaches as much as +89%.’ The data emerges from a study conducted by the Centre for Training and Research on Consumption (C.r.c.), which reviewed the products symbolic of the Christmas holidays by comparing the 2021 price lists with today's. ‘An analysis of the prices charged by the main large-scale retail chains operating in Italy shows that today, the price of a classic industrial panettone or pandoro, net of offers and promotions, varies from around £5.50 for large-scale retail brand products to £17 for higher-end products,’ explains the CRC. However, if we look at the prices charged in 2021 for the same products and in the same retail chains, we find that the retail prices for pandoro and panettone have increased by an average of +42% in four years."
