Milan, 29 August (LaPresse) – The exemption from US duties for parcels worth less than $800 (approximately £690) officially ended today. The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) began collecting normal customs duties on all global parcel imports, regardless of value, after midnight today. This was reported by The Guardian, according to which there will now be a six-month transition period during which postal operators can choose to pay a fixed duty of $80-200 per parcel, depending on the country of origin, according to Trump administration officials.
