Rome, June 30 (LaPresse) – “A request for payment of the eighth installment of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRP), amounting to 12.8 billion euros, was sent to the European Commission today.” This was announced in a note published on the government's website, which states that "the request was submitted following the work of the Steering Committee on June 24 to verify the achievement of the 40 objectives, divided into 28 targets and 12 milestones, which include reforms and strategic investments for the economic and social growth of Italy. With the request for payment of the eighth installment, Italy consolidates its European leadership in the implementation of the NRP, which in the coming months will allow it to exceed 153 billion euros, about 79 percent of the Plan's total financial envelope." In line with what happened with previous payment requests, it is explained, the payment of the eighth installment “will take place following the evaluation process required by European procedures, aimed at verifying the achievement of the milestones and targets set.”
