Tariffs: WTO, world goods trade reduced by up to 1.5% this year

Milan, 16 Apr (LaPresse) – The volume of world trade in goods is expected to fall by 0.2 per cent in 2025 under current conditions, almost three percentage points less than would have been expected in a ‘low tariffs’ baseline scenario. This is based on the tariff situation as of 14 April. Trade could fall further, to -1.5% in 2025, if the situation worsens. This is the finding of the latest World Trade Outlook and Statistics report published by the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
