Milan, March 15 (LaPresse) – "It’s been exactly three months since the new Road Code came into effect. The non-political, non-ideological data shows results that are absolutely, from my point of view, exceptional. A 20% decrease in fatalities, a 5% decrease in accidents, a 9% decrease in injuries." This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, during his speech at the 40th congress of Confarca. "And this – Salvini emphasized – makes up for many of the criticisms from Vasco Rossi, from Tizio and Caio." Salvini added: "I take responsibility for reducing these 3,000 deaths on Italian roads, a number that is absolutely unacceptable. In these three months, we’ve had 61 fewer deaths, 61 lives saved, 61 young people and workers who have made it home instead of going down another road. I believe that if we continue over the next two years, we will have even better results."
