Milan, 20 Feb (LaPresse) – ‘China is deeply concerned about the recent announcement by the United States to impose the so-called “reciprocal tariff” on all major US trading partners. So says China's Minister of Commerce, Wang Wentao, as reported by Global Times on X, regarding the duties sought by Donald Trump's US administration. ‘The US approach not only violates WTO rules, but also ignores the balance of interests achieved through negotiations within the multilateral trading system over the past 80 years, as well as the fact that the US has long benefited significantly from international trade. This is a typical manifestation of unilateralism and protectionism,' according to a Chinese ministry spokesperson.
