Washington (United States), Jan 20 (LaPresse/AP) – The price of bitcoin has soared to over $109,000, a new all-time high, just hours before the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump, with the cryptocurrency industry expecting measures from the tycoon soon after he takes office. Indeed, during the election campaign Trump promised to take steps to make the US the ‘cryptocurrency capital’ of the world. His promises have included the creation of a cryptocurrency reserve in the US, the adoption of industry-friendly regulation, and even the appointment of a cryptocurrency ‘czar’ in his administration.
